PIPELINE TECHNOLOGY SYMPOSIUM

FOREWORD
On Behalf of the Organizing Committee we would like to welcome you to the Pipeline Technology Symposium which forms a part of the 16th Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering Conference. The Pipeline Technology Symposium continues to serve as a major forum for researchers, engineers, manufacturers, and fabricators to share recent advances, discuss problems, and identify challenges associated with pipelines in the offshore industry.
Papers included in this OMAE'97 Pipeline Technology Symposium have been reviewed by recognized specialist and revised prior to acceptance for publication. The features of the symposium are the three sessions devoted to two projects. MULTISPAN Projects, and SUPERB and DNV'96 Projects. The remainder of the papers discuss recent advances in the areas such as Pipe-Soil Interaction and Seismic Effects, Fluid Dynamics and Multiphase Transport, Strength and Material of Pipeline.
We would like to thank the authors for their contributions, the paper reviewers for their time and effort -essential to maintain a high technical standard, and the session organizers for a lot of hard work.
